Why your culture is important

Culture – the glue that holds an organisation together

The dictionary definition of culture is ‘the ideas, customs, and social behaviour of a particular people or society’.

Creating the right work culture which allows people to thrive dramatically improves the productivity of the business.

The knock on effects are too numerous to mention; enhanced customer satisfaction and loyalty, improved employee retention and wellness, brand ambassadors long after your member of staff has left the organisation…. The list goes on.

Over and above these things a great culture can improve engagement, build resilience to change and contribute to better employee wellbeing.

However, building and maintaining the right culture for your organisation is hard. It takes time and effort and requires senior leaders to be in it for the long haul. There is no magic wand to turn and ‘OK’ culture into a great one.

Culture can change and grow over time, why not work with employees to make that happen rather than simply imposing something new?
